Spray Foam Insulation
There is no doubt that insulating your home can be considered to be one of the most important aspects of building your home. The most well-known insulating material is fiberglass, but there are also some other options. One of these other options is spray-on foam insulation. This is a rather new technique but a good one, because it has many benefits.

Spray-on insulation is made of polyurethane foam– the same kind of insulation appliance that manufacturers have been using in refrigerators and water heaters for years. The main difference from traditional insulating materials (like fiberglass or cellulose) is that spray-on foam insulation can seal and fill all the tiny cracks and seams you might not even see. One other positive quality of spray-on foam insulation is that it actually can increase the amount of living space in your home – using spray-on foam insulation in a 1,500-square-foot home can increase free space by as much as 35 square feet. In addition, spray-on foam insulation is fire- and insect-resistant. Foam insulation also helps to control moisture condensation, it won’t shrink or settle. One final thing you should know is that spray foam insulation is not a do-it-yourself project – you’ll need to hire a contractor certified in applying this new technology.
