Safing Insulation is a semi-rigid product that provides superior fire resistance properties when installed between the exterior wall system and floor slab, in service penetration or joint firestop systems. It is manufactured from basalt rock, utilizing patented technology, with a melting point of 2000°F (1093°C). The fibres are bonded and preformed into a self supporting semi-rigid board.
Safing Insulation's superior hand handleability means that the material is clean and can be easily fabricated for use in firestop systems and installed resulting in reduced labour costs.
